From sunrise to sunset the wide leafy streets, River Thames towpaths and glorious 1,000-acre expanse of Bushy Park pounded to the sound of joggers, walkers and hi-vis cyclists — many accompanied by a dog or two. All three local veterinary practices have seen an influx of pet ownership, especially labradors and any sort of cute poodle cross. The only things to dodge on the roads were the supermarket delivery vans.
